"Self observation and silence. Started in 2015 and is an open project. When I get touched for an emotional feeling or random thoughts inside my head, I feel like ready to photograph and let things go. Sometimes is a very personal moment, part of a learning curve or simply a light alert. A welcoming time for shadows and play with seven colors. I consider these images as a small proof of my awareness of pain, joy or wonder. They were taking during a break up, a wake up to love and a searching time. I move between the odd and the beauty. Maybe is an open -non-rigid- method. After all, photography is a beautiful lie."
Coco Martin is a self-taught photographer, architect and educator born and raised in Peru. He lives between Lima and New York and exhibits regularly since 1991. His art work has been featured at the Museo Arte Contemporáneo in the context of the 2014 Photo Biennial in Lima, Perú. Martin’s work was also shown at the First Biennial of Photography of Puerto Rico (1998), Second Biennial of Lima, Peru (2000) and at the Biennial of Photography of Quito, Ecuador (2001) and at the Organization of American States Museum in Washington, D.C. (2008). His artwork is part of the permanent collection at FoLA Fototeca Latinoamericana Museum, in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and at the Museo de Arte de San Marcos in Lima (Peru). He has been recognized with the Exhibit Grant Award from the Council on the Arts for Staten Island, New York, and selected to exhibit at the 2005 Annual Juried Exhibition at Staten Island Museum.
Opus Incarnate, his most ambitious series to date, was shown in La Galeria and Lima Photo Art Fair in August 2012, where he introduced scannographies as part of his photographic research and creative practice and getting wide press coverage. One scannography was finalist in the 2014 LensCulture Portrait Awards in June 2014 and other was selected TOP TEN winner in the Latin American Fotografía 3 for the AI-AP 2014 travel exhibition and catalog. Recent reviews includes: aCurator by Julie Grahame and Dispatches from Latin America by David Schonauer.
This body of work was selected a weekend portfolio by Elodie Mailliet for the disappeared french blog Le Journal de la Photographie in April 2013 and by Christy Karpinski for True/False exhibition for F-Stop Magazine in June 2013. It was selected to participate at the International Summer School of Photography (ISSP) in Latvia also in 2013.
His work has been featured with interviews in former ADORE NOIR MAGAZINE (Vol. 32) and in Creative Monday blog, also in SHOTS Magazine, HOME issue 141 - fall 2018; Die Angst - 1st edition of a Berlin based Photo Magazine (October 2015); aCurator blog - by Julie Grahame. featured artist - Feb 2015; ALBÜM magazine from GALERIA MÜ, Colombia (Print issue, November 2014); in L'Oeil de la Photographie (online, August 2014); ARTE AL LIMITE, Chile (print issues, twice 2009 and 2012) & more.
Back in August 2010 his solo show entitled New Neighbors was held in La Galería (Lima, Peru) and became a traveling exhibition at the Peruvian American Cultural Institute - Arequipa (Nov. 2010) and Peruvian Embassy in Washington, D.C (Sep. 2011). This body of work was also selected to participate in Peruvian Art Now, a group exhibition at the Isabel Aninat Gallery in Santiago de Chile and runner-up for the Forward Thinking Museum, 4th Quarter Photography Contest in 2010.

Debra Achen says, "My "Outside Out" series is a study in spatial perception. The images are taken from a perspective outside of a window looking through to the inside...and back outside through interior windows. Part of my larger “Mixed Vantage” portfolio, these images are not composites or double exposures. Reflections on the foreground glass overlay the details of the interior space and window views. Without the reference of the foreground window panes and frames, the overlapping images become more surreal, some bordering on abstract.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, my passion for art began at a very young age. I moved to California to complete my BA in Visual Arts and for a number of years, painting and mixed media were my preferred creative mediums. Then the gift of a digital camera rekindled my love of photography. This coincided with a move to the scenic Monterey Peninsula, an environment that inspires my work today.
As a photographer, I am attracted to the underlying structure of things, and to the way the forces of nature – Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Gravity, Light, and Time - imprint the material world with their magic. Some of my images border on the abstract.
By extracting, isolating, or separating out" a certain element of a photographic subject, it becomes simplified to a more basic, fundamental form. Other work examines the relationship between objects, space, time, and light. Slow-capture images blur the borders between objects and the space that surrounds them. Movement of the subject or the camera adds the element of time, creating a more impressionistic interpretation of the subject."

Michael Joseph says, "These images are from an ongoing series called "When Paranoia Makes Sense". Unedited and un-staged, street photographs offer an observational view of the world. The street photographer aims to be unnoticed and unobtrusive but faces a modern challenge.
Today's omnipresence of cell phones has led to mass production of images and subsequently the threat of their publication or even viral spread throughout the Internet. The public is made public and paranoia, or an everyday heightened sense of awareness, seems to make sense.
The public's need for photo stores that sell prints has disappeared as prints are being replaced with screens and family albums are stored in "the cloud." Private phone calls are made in public, and public places become overt displays of private thoughts. We look over our shoulders to see who may be lurking in the shadows or unaware of who is spying on our screens. Parents feel a need to protect their children and even clowns in a parade can look suspicious.
The family unit is challenged by a sense of impending doom. Ads on subway walls seem to subconsciously sway our decisions. We are always aware of how we look in public because being in public means we are on display. More than ever, we feel a need for protection and paranoia affords us that sense of protection.
The photographs in this series often break the fourth wall. In some ways the street photographer is just one more person with a camera, taking pictures. In other ways, the street photographer now catches glimpses of the public’s justified sense of paranoia over being photographed in today’s world."
Bio and Highlights-
Michael Joseph is a street and street portrait photographer. Raised just outside of New York City, his inspirations are drawn from interactions with strangers on city streets and aims to afford his audience the same experience through his photographs. His portraits are made on the street, unplanned and up close to allow the viewer to explore the immediate and unseen.
Michael’s project “Lost and Found” has been featured on CNN, Vice, Paper and published in magazines internationally. He has been exhibited nationally, notably in the Aperture Gallery (New York, NY), Daniel Cooney Fine Art (New York, NY), Academy Art Museum (Easton, MD) as well as the Rayko Gallery (San Francisco, CA). He has lectured for at the International Center of Photography (New York, NY) in portraiture classes at the New England School of Photography (Boston, MA) and taught at the Light Factory (Charlotte, NC). His portraits are held in the permanent collections at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Indiana and private collections. He is a 2016 Photolucida Top 50 winner and LensCulture Portrait Award Finalist.
He is a recipient of the fellowship in photography from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and a grant from the Peter S. Reed Foundation. He is represented by Daniel Cooney Fine Art (New York City).

Sonja Stich says, "I document our life as a family with a focus on the simple things. Over the years, both in my private life and in my work, I have scraped off many layers of civilization. In order to live closer to the core of myself as a human being, basically, I've been eliminating more and more things from my life that used to be important to me.
I gave up my work as a graphic designer because the focus on beautiful packaging repelled me more and more. As a family, we moved from the city to a village to be closer to nature.
If, someday, my children should forget that they are part of the whole, that humans are not separate from nature and other humans, how beneficial real laughter and heartfelt touches are, how little you need to be happy, my photos hopefully will remind them.
As a photographer I work with basic equipment, natural light and I don’t influence the scene. I try to eliminate everything that is not essential to the specific moment.
After studying art history and design I worked as a graphic designer in Germany, my country of origin. In 2011 my family and I moved to Spain where I learned photography. I have been working on a project for several years documenting the immersion of my children into nature and their connection to places, friends and family.
Recently I started a new series about an alternative education project in Catalonia. Above all, my interest lies in capturing people connecting with each other and with their environment.
My photos have been published i.a. in Shots Magazine, Photography Monthly, Huffington Post and Click Magazine.

After studying art history and design I worked as a graphic designer in Germany, my country of origin. In 2011 my family and I moved to Spain where I learned photography. I have been working on a project for several years documenting the immersion of my children into nature and their connection to places, friends and family.
Recently I started a new series about an alternative education project in Catalonia. Above all, my interest lies in capturing people connecting with each other and with their environment.
My photos have been published i.a. in Shots Magazine, Photography Monthly, Huffington Post and Click Magazine.
